A Nice Chat With Mah Peeps!

I've been sort of busy and distracted lately, and I know that I have not been keeping up with responding to reader comments as I normally do. So I decided to do a massive shout-out post. I think it will be fun! I can spread a bunch of linky love while I'm doing it, and make everyone happy. Ah, dontcha just love it when the pixie dust is flowing? Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Sea Shells - Labor Day Gifts From Gustav (September 1st)

@BNS: I have a thing for the bright orange scallops, myself. In fact, most of my shelling friends do. It is some sort of disease, I think. I have a jar of orange shells that was put together for me by my friends Gary and Tootie (yes, THAT Tootie, of Turtle Talk fame). There was one in Gary's kitchen and I admired it a lot. I kept giving them orange shells because I thought they were making a jar for my friend Chris (yes, THAT Chris, she of the Vanilla Life - and if you decide to visit her blog, make sure you stop to admire that picture in the banner. It's a great picture, isn't it? Must be a very talented, wonderful photographer, whoever it might be, don't you think? tee hee Kidding, your own photography puts many of us to shame, Bobbie!). Well, it turns out I was actually populating my OWN orange shell jar! I didn't seem to have a photo of it, so I just took one real quick with the Crackberry. Less than stellar photography, but you get the drift -

@Okiesheller: It's good to see you again! Where ya been? What ya been doing? When are you coming to Florida again?
@storyteller: Thank you for all your concern and prayers during these stressful "extreme weather" times. It can be a little nerve wracking, and it's nice to know someone is storming TPTB on behalf of those of us who might be in the path of destruction. And I also want to say that you have some beautiful photos at your Small Reflections blog.

Disney Monopoly (September 2nd)

@Randall: I don't know what the railroad properties are in the Disney Monopoly game. I don't own the game. I took the photo of a mural on the wall of a store in Downtown Disney (Orlando) called Once Upon A Toy. Maybe someone reading this owns the set and could tell you what's inside. If anyone knows, Randall can be found at Randall's Model Train Blog

@Jennifer: You must be pretty excited, with your Disney trip just around the corner! I hope you're going to take a lot of photos, and let me know when you get back and post them, so I can check them out. See ya real soon! Photobucket

@http://pixiekatten.blogg.se/: I think if you want to collect Monopoly sets, you should! You will just have to be choosy, because they will take up some space and then you will need a bigger place at a higher rent. Not what I want for you, because then you will have no money left to travel and take beautiful photos of countries I've never been to :D

Sanibel Lighthouse, August 2008 (September 5th)

@Norm/Travel and Photography: I visited your blog and then followed a link to your other blog, and I found your sea lions for Camera Critters. Too cute! That walrus is amazingly large. Wish I'd been there, I love animal shows.

@Leora: Hey there Leora - loved your post about the New Year foods and translations from Hebrew to English. About my "signature" *~*~* on my photos. I got a tip once from Jules at Just Because about an online photo editing application called Picnik. I just upload to Picnik and add the *~*~* there using the text tool. After that you can save it to your hard drive, or else you can save it to Picasa, Flickr, and a few other places. Neat tool, give it a try sometime.

@Mare: I think the Sanibel Lighthouse is built the way it is built because of hurricanes. You put something tall and wooden there, it's just going to blow away. There are lighthouse keeper residences at the base of the Sanibel Lighthouse, but they are a good deal shorter, and lifted off the ground on "stilts".

Wow, I got all the way through Friday! Yay, me! Photobucket Now I can post this and maybe get some actual decent sleep tonight, with a quasi clear conscience. Take care everyone, will pick up next time with Saturday.

Tink, I'm glad you liked my post about symbols for the Jewish New Year. I need to set up my watercolors on my dining room table downstairs, so when I take a break from working up here I can go down and do some fun art work!

Hi Tink - Thanks for elaborating on those beautiful scallop shells and that great story. How nice to have friends like Tootie and Gary who would do something like that for you. And thank you for your kind assessment of my photography. I appreciate it.

Ah … thanks for the linky-love. That’s very ‘kewl’ indeed. I certainly understand BUSY … am doing my best to catch up today … and perhaps I could steal … I mean ‘borrow’ and/or follow your fine example??? It’s a thought. I can’t recall whether or not I’ve mentioned it before, but I’ve enjoyed the collection of quotes in your sidebar here.
Hugs and blessings,
